SS&C Technologies has unveiled a new catalogue of AI agents designed to simplify some of the most complex operational tasks across financial services and healthcare.
Delivered as a managed service, these agents aim to help firms manage credit processing, contract validation, and other data-heavy activities securely and at scale.
American Life & Security, a fast-growing annuity and retirement carrier based in Nebraska, is among the first adopters. The company has begun evaluating SS&C’s Credit Agreement Document Agent to streamline work within its private credit operations.
The tool automatically reviews and updates large volumes of loan documentation, removing the need for manual checks that are time-intensive and prone to human error. SS&C said it has already seen sizeable reductions in processing times within its own credit workflows, demonstrating the impact of the technology before it reaches customers.
American Life CEO Georgette Nicholas said, “SS&C’s AI agent offering stood out due to its successful implementation within the firm’s own operations. The ability to update credit agreements almost in real time will be transformative allowing our team to focus on higher-value work instead of manual upkeep. This adoption reinforces our commitment to advancing innovation within the annuity and retirement sector.”
The agents are built on the SS&C AI Gateway, the company’s enterprise-grade governance platform designed to ensure safe, compliant and auditable use of large language models. Each agent is developed and tested within SS&C’s internal environment before wider deployment, with the aim of guaranteeing performance, reliability and measurable ROI for customers.
SS&C General Manager for IA & Analytics Rob Stone highlighted the importance of this approach, saying, “Intelligent automation and AI have been transformation enablers for our organization, introducing new levels of business and revenue growth at speed and scale. As Customer Zero, we understood the need for tried and tested purpose-built solutions backed by strong governance and experienced support. With this offering, we are aiming to enable our customers to realize value from agentic AI safely, securely and quickly.”
The SS&C AI Gateway incorporates real-time guardrails for enhanced data protection, risk monitoring and explainability, while offering flexible deployment options. Clients can host both the AI agents and gateway on privately owned GPU infrastructure housed in ISO-compliant data centres, ensuring full control and custody of sensitive data.
Beyond private credit operations, SS&C’s wider AI Agent Catalogue includes prebuilt agents for contract analysis, trade reconciliation, invoice processing and similar high-volume tasks. Clients can use these agents out-of-the-box or adapt them through SS&C Agent Services, which supports bespoke development for organisations with specific operational needs.
