UiPath expands automation into financial crime compliance

UiPath has launched new AI-powered solutions designed to automate financial crime compliance and loan origination workflows for financial institutions.

UiPath has launched new AI-powered solutions designed to automate financial crime compliance and loan origination workflows for financial institutions.

The offerings incorporate technology from WorkFusion, a provider of AI agents for financial crime compliance that UiPath recently acquired. The solutions aim to automate labour-intensive processes such as sanctions screening, alert investigation, adverse media monitoring and loan processing tasks.

The Financial Crime Compliance solution uses AI agents to analyse watchlist alerts and review information across internal and external data sources. An adverse media agent scans news and online information to identify negative mentions linked to customers, helping compliance teams detect potential risks while reducing manual research time.

According to UiPath, Valley National Bank has automated 61% of sanction-hit reviews and processes an average of 14,000 alerts per month using its transaction screening alert review agent.

The company has also launched a Loan Origination solution that integrates with existing loan origination systems and core banking platforms. The system coordinates AI agents, automation workflows and human decision-making to streamline loan setup and quality assurance processes.

Dottie Dunn, Intelligent Automation Director at Suncoast Credit Union, said, “UiPath has partnered with Suncoast to streamline the review and audit process by collaborating on a platform designed to ingest loan documents, compare them to the system of record, and provide the team with quick insights.”

UiPath said the new solutions are designed to help financial institutions manage increasing compliance workloads while improving operational efficiency across lending and financial crime monitoring.
