Vanta, an AI-powered trust management platform for compliance and security automation, has raised $150m in a Series D funding round.
The round was led by Wellington Management, with participation from existing backers including Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Sequoia, J.P. Morgan, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Atlassian Ventures and CrowdStrike Ventures. The investment places Vanta’s valuation at $4.15bn and brings its total capital raised to $504m since its launch in 2021.
Founded in 2018, Vanta started by helping startups automate SOC 2 compliance processes. Since then, it has evolved into a full-stack GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) platform used by more than 12,000 companies across 58 countries. Its services span continuous risk monitoring, compliance maintenance, security attestations and third-party risk management, powered by automation and artificial intelligence.
Vanta intends to use the fresh capital to expand its AI capabilities further and grow into areas such as government compliance and third-party risk management. The company has also been scaling its operations, with over 1,000 staff across five global offices, including a recently opened London base and an Australian data centre.
Recent product developments include the Vanta AI Agent, which automates evidence collection, policy guidance, and other security workflows, saving teams up to 12 hours weekly. Its Questionnaire Automation tool, which drafts responses to security questionnaires, boasts a 95% acceptance rate and halves completion times. These tools aim to eliminate manual inefficiencies in compliance and risk functions.
The company has also expanded its platform with over 350 new features in the past year, acquired vendor security firm Riskey, and launched new capabilities such as Vanta for Marketplaces and Policy Builder. It now supports frameworks including FedRAMP, CMMC and NIST 800-53, broadening its appeal to public sector organisations.
Vanta CEO Christina Cacioppo said, “We started Vanta with a simple belief: if we made it easier to share trust between businesses, all companies could grow faster and more securely. Today, we’re helping businesses earn and prove trust—enabling over 12,000 companies to scale security and GRC the way they scale software. With this new funding, we’ll accelerate Vanta’s AI innovation and expansion into new areas like third-party risk and government compliance—solving more of the real, day-to-day challenges our customers face.”
Wellington Management head of late-stage growth Matt Witheiler said, “We’re excited to lead Vanta’s latest round of funding and support them as they transform how companies build and prove trust. Vanta’s AI-driven platform is moving beyond the standard for security and compliance — with real-time, continuous verification that’s essential for every industry in today’s business environment. Christina and Vanta have created something truly special and we look forward to seeing their impact grow as they expand into new markets and push the boundaries of what’s possible for trust management in the age of AI.”
This Series D round brings Vanta’s total funding to $504m since 2021, reflecting strong investor confidence in its AI-led approach to trust and security automation.
