Cytora targets cyber risk gap with VulnCheck integration

Cytora, the generative AI-powered digital risk processing platform, has partnered with exploit intelligence specialist VulnCheck and its European partner Infinite Insight to bring real-time vulnerability data into commercial insurance underwriting for the first time.

The integration sees VulnCheck’s machine-consumable, evidence-driven intelligence embedded directly into the Cytora platform, giving commercial insurers the ability to automatically enrich submissions with critical insights into a prospect’s vulnerability posture at the point of underwriting.

Rather than relying on static submission forms, underwriters can now access dynamic intelligence on specific software vulnerabilities and exploit risks associated with a prospective insured.

Pricing and capacity decisions can therefore be anchored to the most accurate intelligence available, with the combination of Cytora’s generative AI-powered risk processing and VulnCheck’s specialised exploit data helping insurers to streamline the enrichment phase of their workflows. The result, according to the companies, is reduced decision latency and stronger portfolio resilience in the face of evolving cyber threats.

Cytora positions the collaboration as a further step in its ambition to build the most comprehensive data ecosystem in the insurance industry. The partnership follows a period of considerable growth for the company, which has expanded its platform capabilities across commercial and specialty lines and forged major relationships with global carriers.

Cytora’s platform digitises risk workflows at scale for brokers, insurers and reinsurers, helping them uplift premiums, improve risk selection and transform service delivery.

VulnCheck, meanwhile, specialises in closing the exploitation-timing gap by providing intelligence on when vulnerabilities become exploitable and how they are actively used by attackers, allowing organisations to act on attacker timelines rather than disclosure timelines.

The announcement also follows the launch of Cytora Autopilot, a product designed to enable end-to-end automation of risk workflows for the first time, shifting the industry away from fragmented digitisation towards fully self-running processes.

Cytora COO Juan de Castro said: “Cyber risk is one of the most dynamic and challenging lines of business to underwrite. Our partnership with VulnCheck brings a sophisticated layer of vulnerability intelligence directly into the risk processing workflow. This enables our clients to move beyond basic questionnaires and access actionable intelligence that drives smarter, faster, and more resilient cyber underwriting decisions.”

VulnCheck chief marketing officer Thomas Bain said: “Effective cyber risk assessment requires more than vulnerability counts. It demands insights into which vulnerabilities are weaponized in the wild. By integrating VulnCheck’s intelligence into Cytora’s platform, insurers get the deepest context on threat activity, enabling more accurate risk differentiation and underwriting confidence.”
