Summary

Intesa Sanpaolo came about through a merger of Banca Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI in 2007.

In May 2016, the bank announced it had opened an innovation centre in London, less than a month after it launched a new venture fund to back FinTech startups to be called ‘Neva Finventures’.

Intesa Sanpaolo says the firm operates in ‘all business areas,’ such as wealth management. The Group offers caters to 11.1m customers through a network of nearly branches.

Intesa Sanpaolo is headquartered in Turin but also has an office in Milan.
