Startup Hive is a virtual startup incubator, accelerator and coworking location founded and managed by Stephen G. Barr (SGB Media Group, Boardroom Advisory Services) to assist emerging technology startups in many verticals but generally within the social networking, software development, international retailing, digital publishing, personal services, luxury consumer goods, entertainment, fine arts, progressive political and nonprofit sectors. Seed funding procurement assistance through the use of a series of niche market, equity based crowdfunding sites currently in development and to begin alpha testing in 2013 as a result of the changing investor regulations as part of the Jobs Act as well as through traditional venture capital sources.
