Moroccan RegTech Charikaty raises $150k funding

Charikaty

Charikaty, a Moroccan RegTech and LegalTech firm focused on digital company formation, has raised fresh capital after appearing on national television, marking another step in the country’s push towards digital entrepreneurship.

The company secured MAD 1.5m, approximately $150k, during Season 3 of “Qui Veut Investir Dans Mon Projet?”, Morocco’s leading start-up investment show broadcast on national channel 2M.

The funding was provided by Ilan Benhaim, co-founder of Veepee and chairman of Endeavor Morocco, and Karim Amor, president of MeM by CGEM and founder of Epineon.ai, following a pitch that outlined the firm’s growth prospects and market opportunity.

Founded by Amr Mouaqit, CEO, and Driss Sijelmassi, COO, Charikaty offers a fully digital service for setting up and managing companies in Morocco. Its platform covers legal structuring, documentation, government registration, amendments, dissolution procedures, trademark registration and ongoing compliance obligations. The aim is to replace lengthy, paper-based processes with a streamlined online solution accessible to entrepreneurs across the country.

Each year, more than 90,000 new companies are registered in Morocco, as the government presses ahead with its “Maroc Digital 2030” strategy to modernise public services and encourage innovation. Charikaty positions itself as part of that digital infrastructure, helping founders navigate administrative requirements that have traditionally involved complex procedures and extended waiting periods.

The company said it intends to use the new funding to further develop its technology platform, extend its presence nationwide and broaden its offering to entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises and Moroccans living abroad seeking to establish businesses in the country.
