RAVEN.IO, a cybersecurity company protecting applications at runtime and preventing both known and unknown attacks in real time, has raised $20m in funding.
Norwest led the seed round, with a post-seed investment led by Elron Ventures. RedSeed, UpWest, SentinelOne, Jibe Ventures, Dnipro VC, Unusual Ventures, CyberFuture and Descope CEO Slavik Markovich also participated in the seed round.
The funding will be used to accelerate product development, expand go-to-market activities in the United States, and grow the company’s engineering and research teams.
Unlike conventional security tools that sit outside an application or match threats against catalogued CVE signatures, RAVEN.IO’s platform works from within the running application itself, examining how code actually behaves in real time. The technology is already live in production environments across 11 enterprise clients, largely drawn from the insurance and financial sectors — industries with a heightened exposure to application layer and supply chain threats.
The growing use of AI to generate and deploy exploits has significantly disrupted traditional security approaches. Threat actors can now identify and weaponise vulnerabilities far more rapidly than the CVE framework can catalogue them, leaving organisations unprotected during the intervening period. As the window between a vulnerability emerging and being actively exploited continues to shrink — in some instances disappearing entirely — defences built around known signatures are increasingly inadequate.
RAVEN.IO’s response is to monitor what unfolds inside applications rather than around them. The platform maps execution paths at runtime, creating a distinct behavioural fingerprint for each one. Any deviation from expected behaviour triggers an immediate alert, enabling the system to catch and stop attacks even where no CVE exists. This all occurs without any performance penalty or the need for added instrumentation.
Raven.io CEO Roi Abitboul said, “In an era where AI tools can identify and exploit vulnerabilities at unprecedented scale and speed, organizations can no longer rely solely on signatures or on CVEs published after the fact. We founded RAVEN.IO to enable organizations to precisely prevent attacks and to truly understand, in real time, what is happening inside their applications, without compromising performance or business continuity.”
Elron Ventures CEO Yaniv Shnieder said, “RAVEN.IO operates in one of the fastest-growing areas of cybersecurity. The application security market is currently estimated at around $17 billion, with runtime application security among its fastest-growing segments. The shift toward modern architectures, cloud environments and accelerated AI-driven development is creating a need for a deeper security layer within the application itself. We believe strongly in the company’s business momentum and in its potential for broad adoption across global enterprises, which is why we joined and are supporting the company post-seed.”
