SmartSearch, a provider of digital compliance and AML solutions, has announced the appointment of Seyfi Günay as chief revenue officer.
Günay joins the company’s executive leadership team as it embarks on a major growth phase, following significant investment from Triple Private Equity and the acquisition of identity verification specialist Credas, claims Finextra.
SmartSearch delivers market-leading digital compliance and AML technology to more than 7,500 regulated businesses across the UK. Its platform provides triple-bureau verification from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, ensuring highly accurate identity data. The firm’s end-to-end solutions cover KYC and KYB checks, as well as domestic and international verifications. SmartSearch’s technology integrates seamlessly with over 30 CRM and case management systems, offering clients pass rates of up to 97% and transforming compliance into a strategic advantage.
In his new role, Günay will be responsible for driving SmartSearch’s revenue growth and go-to-market strategies. With more than two decades of experience in sales leadership, he brings expertise gained from senior roles at London Stock Exchange Group, Moody’s Analytics, and S&P Global Market Intelligence. Throughout his career, he has led high-performing teams and delivered double-digit revenue growth for Software-as-a-Service and FinTech organisations across the EMEA region.
SmartSearch’s appointment of Günay reinforces its leadership in the AML and compliance technology sector. The company is already trusted by over half of the UK’s top 100 accountancy firms, a third of the top 200 legal firms, more than 1,000 property businesses and over 3,000 FCA-regulated firms. These organisations rely on SmartSearch for faster onboarding, reduced operational risk and improved compliance confidence — turning regulatory challenges into business opportunities.
Seyfi Günay, chief revenue officer at SmartSearch, said, “SmartSearch has an incredibly talented team dedicated to combatting financial crime and fraud and it is a privilege to join the company as Chief Revenue Officer. I look forward to working alongside the rest of the executive leadership team to drive growth, enhance SmartSearch’s product offerings and provide customers with solutions to strengthen compliance, reduce risk and enable them to achieve their strategic objectives.”
SmartSearch CEO Phil Cotter said, “Seyfi’s appointment as Chief Revenue Officer comes at a pivotal moment for SmartSearch, as we enter the next stage of our business evolution. His wealth of experience and sector-specific expertise will be invaluable to the leadership team as we work together to accelerate growth and deliver new and exciting solutions that help our clients navigate today’s complex regulatory environment and evolving financial crime landscape.”
