Sovos and Tungsten Automation have announced a strategic partnership to deliver an integrated compliant AP solution for multinational organisations.
The partnership aims to address the critical need for seamless integration between accounts payable automation and indirect tax compliance as global regulatory demands continue to increase. By combining Sovos’ Tax Compliance Cloud with the Tungsten Automation Platform, the firms are looking to enable businesses to automate invoice processing while ensuring compliance with evolving e-invoicing mandates.
Sovos is known for providing tax compliance technology that helps organisations stay compliant across a fragmented regulatory landscape, while Tungsten Automation specialises in intelligent document processing and AP workflow automation, enabling companies to reduce manual tasks and accelerate financial operations.
Through this collaboration, Sovos and Tungsten will offer a joint solution that uses AI-powered OCR technology to capture and process invoices in various formats, automatically match invoices within procurement and ERP systems, and deliver real-time tax determination to guarantee compliance. The combined solution aims to cut manual effort, reduce costs, and provide audit-ready documentation, transforming AP from a cost centre into a strategic advantage.
The partnership builds on a long-standing operational relationship, with Sovos previously serving as the embedded tax compliance engine within Tungsten’s platform. This formal agreement follows successful customer engagements and direct market feedback, providing a tested pathway to future scalability.
The integrated AP solution operates across five stages, including AI-powered invoice data extraction, automated matching, tax compliance validation by Sovos, seamless ERP posting, and real-time reporting and analytics. This enables companies to move towards 90%+ touchless invoice processing, cut audit-related penalties by up to 70%, and reduce invoice processing costs from $10 to under $2.
Customers adopting the combined platform will gain the flexibility to integrate compliance automation without replacing existing systems, ensuring ViDA compliance for upcoming EU mandates and improving cash flow through faster, accurate processing.
Tungsten Automation CEO Peter Hantman said, “The convergence of AP automation and tax compliance isn’t just an operational advantage, it’s become a business imperative. Our partnership with Sovos addresses a critical C-Suite need in how enterprises approach their financial workflows. By integrating our proven automation capabilities with Sovos’ comprehensive compliance expertise, we’re delivering a solution that transforms AP from a cost center into a strategic advantage.”
Sovos CEO Kevin Akeroyd said, “This partnership represents the evolution of tax compliance from a reactive business requirement to a proactive growth enabler. By combining our deep tax expertise with Tungsten’s automation leadership, we’re not just solving today’s compliance challenges, we’re futureproofing our customers’ operations against an evolving global regulatory landscape. This is exactly the kind of integrated innovation that transforms how businesses operate.”
