Belgian InsurTech startup Qover has picked up €5.5m in a Series A round led by Anthemis Group. The round also saw participation from existing backers Belcube and Callatäy & Wouters Ventures.

On-demand insurance startup Trov has secured $45m in a Series D round led by Munich Re / HSB Ventures. The company says all of its Series C round investors participated in the round.

Cross-border payments technology platform Currencycloud has picked up £20m from Alphabet’s venture arm GV (formerly Google Ventures).

Scalable blockchain database BigchainDB has raised €3m in a Series A investment. The round comes from Earlybird Venture Capital, Anthemis Group, Digital Currency Group and innogy SE.
