Vigilant AI.ai secures £585k for compliant AI teammates

Vigilant AI.ai, a Derby-based RegTech platform developing compliant “AI teammates” for regulated enterprises, has raised £585k in pre-seed funding.

The round was led by Haatch, drawing on three Haatch-managed sources, including Haatch itself, the East Midlands Combined County Authority, and the British Business Bank, claims FinTech Finance.

The company, founded to help regulated businesses safely deploy artificial intelligence, specialises in embedding generative AI directly into existing workflows while maintaining compliance. Its “AI teammates” operate under real-time compliance guardrails and automatically produce an immutable audit trail of all AI-generated actions. The platform integrates natively with tools such as Slack, allowing domain experts—not just IT teams—to build and govern their own AI teammates.

Vigilant AI.ai’s technology is designed around three key principles: real-time protection, seamless integration, and user empowerment. Compliance enforcement occurs as work happens rather than during reviews or audits after the fact. Its approach ensures that AI operates inside existing enterprise systems, reducing friction and improving adoption across departments.

The £585k investment will be used to expand hiring and strengthen the company’s go-to-market strategy. Funds will also go towards refining the platform’s core features, including intuitive controls, enterprise-grade security certifications, and self-service onboarding. Additionally, Vigilant AI.ai aims to convert several ongoing pilot projects into paying customers in Q4 2025 and scale its deployment with regulated clients.

The company’s focus on transparency and accountability aims to close the trust gap that regulated industries face when adopting AI solutions. By providing traceable and policy-compliant AI interactions, Vigilant AI.ai seeks to redefine how businesses in financial services, insurance, and other regulated sectors integrate generative AI into daily operations.
