Frenos, a pioneering startup, has developed an autonomous operational technology (OT) security assessment platform.
According to Security Week, the firm announced on Tuesday that it has successfully raised $3.88m in seed funding. The investment round was spearheaded by DataTribe, aiming to propel Frenos’s growth and broaden its market presence across vital infrastructure sectors.
The company specializes in a unique AI-native platform designed to evaluate, prioritize, and safeguard mission-critical environments, ensuring there is no disruption to operations. Utilizing a digital network twin and an AI reasoning agent, the platform meticulously analyzes potential threats. It identifies how adversaries could exploit an organization’s OT environment, pinpointing specific combinations of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and vulnerabilities that pose the greatest risks.
Frenos plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate the development of its platform. The funding will also support the company’s expansion efforts, enhancing its ability to reach more clients within the critical infrastructure domains.
Adding to its innovative approach, Frenos has established strategic partnerships with leading cybersecurity entities including Claroty, Palo Alto Networks, Tenable, Rapid7, Forescout, Nvidia, and Enaxy. These collaborations are set to fortify its market position and enhance the platform’s capabilities.

Lee, CEO and co-founder of industrial cybersecurity giant Dragos and a member of Frenos’s advisory board, commented.
