AI infrastructure start-up Echo raises $15m seed round

Echo, a cybersecurity start-up specialising in secure software infrastructure, has raised $15m in a seed funding round to accelerate its mission of building vulnerability-free application environments.

The round was led by Notable Capital and Hyperwise Ventures, with additional participation from SVCI. The investment comes as Echo gains traction in the enterprise market, having completed several successful deployments of its AI-powered infrastructure.

Echo’s core offering is a secure-by-design solution for container base images, which form the foundation of most modern applications. Rather than reacting to emerging vulnerabilities, Echo uses artificial intelligence to proactively rebuild clean versions of open source images, eliminating vulnerabilities by design and reducing the software attack surface.

The newly secured capital will be used to support Echo’s next stage of growth, helping the company expand its reach and enhance its product offering. As software development speeds up due to advances in AI, so too does the risk of vulnerability exploitation, with a 34% increase in such incidents reported this year. Echo aims to address this challenge by making infrastructure inherently secure, rather than relying on reactive patching.

Echo’s AI agents automate the entire process, from scanning and analysing open source image components, to building and continuously patching clean versions that maintain full functionality. The result is a product that mirrors the original software environment while removing the underlying weaknesses.

The company also offers fast-tracked FedRAMP compliance for cloud-based organisations looking to engage in U.S. federal contracts. Its FIPS-validated images are ready to deploy and do not require businesses to move away from standard operating environments, enabling easier adoption.

Echo CEO Eilon Elhadad said, “Echo was born out of a broken system. Today’s tools chase and prioritise vulnerabilities rather than solve the root of the problem. Our clean images enable companies to build on secure infrastructure, and our AI agents make sure it stays that way. We’ve reduced remediation timelines from an industry average of 120 days to just 24 hours – a transformative turnaround that’s reflected in customers’ existing scanners and CNAPPs.”

Notable Capital managing partner Oren Yunger said, “Vulnerability management is a $17 billion industry. By offering secure-by-design infrastructure, it could unlock billions annually – not to mention the downstream cost savings of preventing potential breaches.”

Hyperwise Ventures managing partner Nathan Shuchman added, “Echo gives businesses the luxury of not worrying about how to manage vulnerabilities.”

Echo’s impact has already been recognised by customers. UiPath CISO Scott Roberts said, “Echo’s product is a game changer for us. The vulnerability-free container base images have immediately cut our patching workload, saving us significant time and money.”

The company was founded by Eilon Elhadad and Eylam Milner, the former co-creators of Argon, a company that was later acquired by Aqua Security.
