SentinelOne has agreed to acquire Prompt Security, a specialist in securing AI in runtime, preventing data leakage and protecting intelligent agents.
Prompt Security, known for its AI defence technology, helps organisations monitor and control generative AI (GenAI) use across enterprises, while SentinelOne delivers AI-powered endpoint, cloud, data, and security operations capabilities.
The acquisition is aimed at extending SentinelOne’s Singularity platform to address the fast-growing use of GenAI and agentic AI in the workplace. By integrating Prompt Security’s tools, SentinelOne intends to provide chief information security officers and IT leaders with real-time visibility, policy-based controls, and AI attack prevention measures. This move will allow businesses to embrace AI at scale without compromising safety, security, or innovation.
SentinelOne develops advanced AI-driven cybersecurity solutions to detect and respond to complex threats at machine speed. The company was an early mover in bringing agentic and GenAI capabilities into its platform, improving the efficiency of security operations centres. Prompt Security offers enterprises the ability to monitor all AI usage, eliminate “shadow AI” risks, and protect against prompt injection, malicious output manipulation, and model abuse, with support for major LLMs including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, as well as on-premise deployments.
The combination of SentinelOne’s AI-powered infrastructure security and Prompt Security’s runtime AI defence technology aims to deliver a market-leading integrated approach to securing AI, spanning infrastructure to user-level interaction. The deal also creates new growth and platform expansion opportunities for SentinelOne and its partners.
Additional capabilities to be offered through this integration include model-agnostic coverage, MCP gateway security between AI apps and over 13,000 known MCP servers, and automated enforcement to prevent high-risk prompts and sensitive data leakage.
