Hush Security raises $11m to replace legacy vaults

Hush Security, a secretless, policy-based access platform for securing machine identities, has emerged from stealth with the announcement of fresh funding.

The company confirmed it has raised $11m in a seed round led by Battery Ventures and YL Ventures.

Hush Security provides enterprises with a new approach to securing machine-to-machine connections. Instead of relying on static secrets or vaults, which have been standard but increasingly outdated methods, the company uses just-in-time, policy-driven access controls that are enforced at runtime. This approach, it says, reduces both operational and security risks that are inherent in traditional systems.

With the fresh capital, the company intends to accelerate engineering work and expand its go-to-market presence worldwide. Despite operating in stealth until now, Hush has already secured paying customers, including several Fortune 500 firms.

Founded in 2024 by the team behind Meta Networks, later acquired by Proofpoint, Hush is built on a vision of shifting the security industry towards policy-based machine identity protection. Its platform integrates runtime visibility and discovery, posture analysis, and prevention, replacing the need for static credentials.

Hush Security CEO and co-founder Micha Rave said, “Chasing secrets or watching dashboards doesn’t stop attacks. Vaults were built for an era where environments changed slowly and AI was not part of the equation. That era is over. AI agents, ephemeral workloads, and automation have changed the game, and the vault model can’t keep up. We’ve eliminated the need for credentials entirely, introducing a groundbreaking new model for machine access.”

Battery Ventures partner Barak Schoster added, “We’re at a critical inflection point. Static secrets simply can’t keep pace with modern infrastructure, rapid development cycles, and the demands of AI-driven workload.

“Hush Security’s seasoned team and cutting-edge technology offer the right approach to replace secrets with dynamic policies, and we believe this is the beginning of the end for credential-based attacks.”
