Coalition, the Active Insurance provider focused on preventing digital risk before it strikes, has introduced a new Deepfake Response Endorsement to its cyber insurance policies worldwide.
The launch comes as businesses face growing exposure to AI-driven impersonation and misinformation.
The endorsement is designed to help organisations respond to and recover from deepfake incidents that can cause reputational, legal and operational damage, even where companies have strong cybersecurity controls in place.
Coalition said the offering reflects the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and the increasing sophistication of digital threats targeting businesses and their leadership teams.
Coalition chief underwriting officer Tiago Henriques said, “Businesses can do everything right—lock down networks, ignore fraudulent funds transfer requests, comply with privacy laws—only to have their reputation damaged by a deepfake. Coalition’s Deepfake Response Endorsement helps businesses respond to and recover from these potentially damaging situations with specialized technical, legal, and reputational support.”
The new endorsement enables brokers to offer clients additional protection against emerging forms of digital risk, including deepfakes that falsely depict executives making inflammatory statements or employees appearing to criticise company products in an effort to manipulate share prices or public perception.
The coverage is intended to strengthen organisational resilience as AI-generated content becomes harder to detect.
Coalition head of cyber portfolio underwriting Michael Phillips said, “Cyber insurance is designed to respond to evolving digital risk. Under the endorsement, Coalition cyber policyholders gain access to a coordinated response that includes technical analysis by specialist deepfake forensics firms, legal support to pursue takedown of malicious content from online platforms, and crisis communications assistance from public relations professionals.
The Deepfake Response Endorsement is available to Coalition customers in Australia, the US, the UK, Canada including Quebec, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and France, reflecting the global nature of AI-driven digital risk and regulatory exposure.
