KYCP rebrands to signal shift beyond traditional KYC

KYCP has unveiled a new brand identity, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s development and signalling its growth into a comprehensive compliance and risk-management platform that extends well beyond its original remit.

The company, which previously operated under the name KYC Portal, acknowledged that the market had come to associate its brand almost exclusively with traditional Know Your Customer (KYC) services. While KYC remains a core component of the platform, the underlying technology has expanded considerably in scope and capability over the years.

The rebrand to KYCP is intended to reflect the platform’s broader mission: equipping organisations with the tools to understand, assess, and manage the full range of relationships, risks, and compliance processes across their business ecosystems.

The initialism now stands for Know Your CounterParty, a deliberate repositioning that signals the platform’s ability to assess all types of counterparties — not just individuals subject to traditional KYC checks.

The refreshed visual identity introduces a new colour palette centred on deep teal and crystal aqua tones, chosen to represent trust, security, and technological sophistication. The redesigned logo separates the letters KY and CP across two lines, intentionally disrupting the conventional KYC association and reinforcing the platform’s expanded capabilities.

As part of the rebrand, KYCP has also launched a new website and domain, designed to improve user experience, enhance search visibility, and support the company’s growing digital footprint. The streamlined online journey aims to make it simpler for prospective clients to understand the platform’s full range of capabilities.

KYCP founder and CEO Kristoff Zammit Ciantar said, “When we originally launched KYCPortal, the platform was focused primarily on KYC processes. Over the years it has evolved into something far more powerful. Today, KYCP supports organisations across multiple layers of compliance, risk management, and operational intelligence.

“The new brand reflects that evolution. ‘Know Your Counterpart’ captures the real purpose of the platform, helping businesses truly understand the entities they work with and manage risk with confidence.”

The rebrand was developed in partnership with brand agency Growth Gurus, which led both the strategic and creative direction of the project.

Growth Gurus head of branding Chris Curmi said, “One of the key challenges was breaking the market’s automatic association with traditional KYC services. The platform has grown into a sophisticated multi-module compliance engine, and the brand needed to reflect that scale and maturity.

“The new identity positions KYCP as a modern, trusted technology partner while clearly signalling that the platform goes far beyond conventional KYC.”
