Edge security startup Huskeys launches with $8m seed round

Huskeys, an Edge Security Management (ESM) startup, has emerged from stealth with $8m in seed funding, aiming to overhaul web application security by replacing legacy technologies that lack the connectivity, context, and automation needed for modern environments.

The round draws from a broad and high-profile investor base, including venture capital firms 10D, SV Angel, toDay Ventures (part of Merlin Ventures), CCL, and Alumni Ventures.

A number of prominent cybersecurity angels also participated, including Ariel Maislos, Michael Dolinsky, Benny Schnaider, Ofer Ben-Noon, Maty Siman, and Slavik Markovich, alongside more than 30 CISOs from leading global companies.

The round also features individual angel investors from the world of sport, including footballer Mario Götze, NFL player Kelvin Beachum, and 2026 NFL Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald, as well as The Players Fund, a Juventus Football Club venture partner, and Como 1907 stakeholders.

The funding coincides with the launch of what Huskeys describes as the industry’s first ESM platform. Rather than replacing existing infrastructure, the platform sits atop it, using patent-pending technology to integrate an agentic layer across the entire edge security stack.

It unifies CDN, WAF, infrastructure, and application flows into a single cohesive layer. Its AI engine abstracts provider-specific syntax, enriches it with organisational context, and applies analysis of traffic behaviour, business logic, and risk to continuously assess and orchestrate rules, policies, and configurations across multi-cloud and multi-WAF environments.

The platform is already deployed with dozens of global companies, including TikTok, Merlin Entertainments, and Hugging Face.

Huskeys CEO and co-founder Itai Gafni said, “Web traffic has shifted from humans to APIs and now to automated agents, making it harder than ever to distinguish between legitimate and malicious activity.

“Security teams have essentially given up on making their WAF effective because the trade-off is too high. In almost every call, we hear the same thing: ‘I don’t want to touch it.’ You either block legitimate customers and lose revenue or leave the doors open to modern attacks. It’s a doomsday choice no one should have to make.”

Huskeys co-founder and CTO Roy Weisfeld said, “We met while working on a mutual project that used AI to enhance web hacking to bypass the most common WAF vendors, and it was shocking how easily we were able to bypass every existing solution. Their effectiveness was essentially zero.”
