Cyphercor, an Ontario-based cybersecurity company and developer of the LoginTC Multi-Factor Authentication platform, has been awarded a grant through the Ontario Centre for Innovation’s (OCI) Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) initiative to enhance its authentication offering for critical infrastructure and manufacturing environments.
The funding was awarded under the CIT Development and Commercialisation (DC) programme stream to support Cyphercor’s “Secure Access Modernisation for Critical Infrastructure” project.
The initiative will see the LoginTC MFA platform gain new capabilities including contextual push notifications, biometric authentication, and FIDO2-compliant smart card access, all engineered to function across both connected and offline systems.
Cyphercor was amongst more than 330 projects announced by Minister Fedeli on 2 March, and worked with the CIT Technology Development Site in Ottawa in partnership with the uOttawa-IBM Cyber Range. Through this collaboration, Cyphercor’s team underwent cyber simulation training and had its innovations subjected to penetration testing by IBM experts.
The project aligns with Ontario’s Buy Ontario objectives, with the solution being developed, tested, and commercialised entirely within the province.
OCI president and CEO Claudia Krywiak said, “Ontario’s innovation economy is strengthened when industry, government, and innovators work together.
“Strategic investments through the Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) initiative accelerate technology adoption, reduce commercialization barriers, and position SMEs to compete globally while delivering impactful solutions across key sectors.”
Cyphercor CEO and founder Diego Matute said, “The OCI grant enables us to bring our MFA solution to the next level for critical infrastructure sectors. Our goal is to provide secure, standards-based access for operational and manufacturing environments, bridging physical and digital security, and allowing organizations to modernize without disrupting existing systems.”
