FIS has launched its Enterprise Risk Suite on Amazon Web Services (AWS), offering financial institutions a cloud-native risk management platform designed to eliminate the operational disruption traditionally associated with software upgrades.
The deployment shifts risk infrastructure to a continuous delivery model, meaning clients will always run the most up-to-date version of the platform without needing to schedule or manage upgrades themselves. FIS takes on that responsibility through a CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery) framework, freeing institutions to focus on risk management rather than infrastructure maintenance.
The platform is built on a microservice-based, cloud-native architecture that allows clients to scale their risk operations in line with demand. It supports higher volumes of calculations without any degradation in performance, and includes burst computing capability — enabling firms to draw on additional processing power during peak workloads or large computational tasks, removing the need for expensive on-premise hardware to sit idle between periods of heavy use.
FIS provides technology across the full spectrum of financial services, with its capital markets division serving institutions that require sophisticated risk infrastructure. The Enterprise Risk Suite covers both market and credit risk, and FIS has been recognised as a category leader across all quadrants in the Chartis Credit Risk Management Systems report.
The AWS launch follows that recognition and signals a broader repositioning of how enterprise risk technology is consumed — moving away from lengthy, disruptive upgrade cycles towards a model of seamless, continuous capability delivery. The company says the new architecture enables more capital-efficient decision-making and supports revenue growth by keeping risk tools current with market conditions.
FIS Capital Markets president Andrés Choussy said, “The move to a cloud-native architecture on AWS showcases our commitment to unlock financial technology across the money lifecycle, and removes the trade-off between staying current and staying operational. Our clients can now run the latest, most powerful version of Enterprise Risk Suite at all times, while scaling their risk infrastructure dynamically to meet whatever the market demands. This modern framework combined with comprehensive risk coverage enables smarter, faster and more capital-efficient risk management decisions that drive revenue growth.”
Amazon Web Services head of financial services market development John Kain said, “Financial institutions need risk management infrastructure that keeps pace with market volatility without sacrificing operational continuity. By deploying Enterprise Risk Suite on AWS, FIS is delivering exactly that — a cloud-native platform that gives clients continuous access to the latest capabilities, elastic compute power for peak workloads, and the scalability to grow without the burden of legacy upgrade cycles. We’re proud to support FIS in transforming how the insurance industry manages risk.”
