Sofina backs Eye Security’s €60m Series C round

Eye Security, the Dutch cybersecurity platform combining AI-driven detection with human-led threat response and in-house cyber insurance, has closed a €60m Series C funding round.

The round was led by Belgian investment company Sofina, which takes a minority stake in the business, alongside a substantially larger commitment from existing backer TIN Capital, and continued participation from existing investors J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners.

The new capital arrives as European organisations contend with intensifying cyber threats, stricter regulation and a growing push to limit reliance on non-European technology providers.

Eye Security positions itself as serving organisations, from rapidly scaling businesses through to large enterprises, that require robust protection without having to build the capability internally.

Proceeds from the Series C will be channelled into expanding into additional European markets, broadening the company’s product ecosystem via partnerships, building out AI-driven features that support its analysts, and growing headcount across engineering, threat intelligence and customer-facing teams. The company has scaled to support more than a thousand clients across the BENELUX and DACH regions and further afield since its 2020 launch.

The platform, known as Cyber Guard, pairs machine-driven detection with round-the-clock human analysts rather than relying purely on automated systems. Rather than locking customers into a closed ecosystem, Eye Security is designed to plug into clients’ existing EDR, cloud security and infrastructure tools. T

he company also keeps all client data within the EU, which it says gives customers facing GDPR and NIS2 obligations greater certainty. A further distinguishing feature is the bundling of MDR, incident response and threat intelligence with cyber insurance underwritten in-house.

Eye Security founder and CEO Job Kuijpers said, “Cybersecurity is entering a new era. AI is accelerating both the threats organisations face and the speed at which they must respond.

“Europe needs sovereign cybersecurity solutions built on intelligence-grade expertise, trusted technology, rapid execution and seamless cyber insurance. That is what we are building at Eye Security.”
