Abstract, a composable security operations company, has raised $25m in a funding round that underlines a growing enterprise appetite to move away from monolithic SIEM platforms and reclaim control over data, AI and cost.
The round was co-led by Cheyenne Ventures and AVP, alongside new backing from Olive Hill Ventures and continued support from existing investors Crosslink Capital and Rally Ventures. It lifts the company’s cumulative capital raised to almost $50m, capping a year of rapid commercial momentum in which annual recurring revenue climbed 380%, net revenue retention hit 264% and the customer base tripled in size. The firm also added 40 strategic hires to support its push into the enterprise market.
The capital will be deployed to broaden the platform’s in-stream detection capabilities, embed its Astro AI technology more deeply across the security operations centre workflow, and expand the go-to-market organisation to meet rising enterprise demand.
Abstract argues that the traditional security model is broken. For years, teams have routed every log into a single platform, paying escalating fees as data volumes grew, with detection only occurring once information was already sitting in storage. That approach ties firms to one vendor’s stack and turns visibility itself into a cost burden.
The company’s answer is its AI-Gen Security Operations offering, a streaming-first platform that pairs a composable architecture with detections run on data in motion and AI applied across the entire SOC workflow. Users can separate data sources from their destinations to avoid vendor lock-in, surface threats before information lands in storage, and tier and route data in the schema each destination requires, including OCSF, ECS and CIM, to reduce storage spend. The platform also scales across multi-cloud and hybrid environments while keeping organisations in charge of their own architecture, data and costs.
