ThirdEye taps ID-Pal as AI fraud raises onboarding stakes

ThirdEye, an end-to-end AML platform provider, has chosen Irish identity verification specialist ID-Pal to supply the KYC and KYB tools behind its offering in Australia and New Zealand. The move comes as AI is reshaping how criminals attack financial institutions.

Under the arrangement, ID-Pal’s AI-driven technology for verifying people and companies will be built into ThirdEye’s AML platform. Lenders and other regulated firms across the region are being pushed harder to tackle fraud, tighten compliance and secure trust from the moment a customer signs up.

The deal also extends ID-Pal’s presence in international markets. Organisations in Australia, New Zealand and the UK will now be able to use ID-Pal’s document authentication, biometric checks and address verification next to the modules ThirdEye already offers. Both firms say the result is a leaner and more scalable product for clients in those markets.

ID-Pal applies AI to confirm that identity documents are genuine, validate individuals and companies, and help detect fraud. It takes a privacy-preserving approach, shielding sensitive customer data while returning verification results in real time.

ThirdEye pairs automation with local knowledge to give banks, financial institutions and other heavily regulated businesses a secure means of countering financial crime. Its configurable models cover customer screening, transaction monitoring, case management and regulatory reporting, helping clients safeguard customers, control risk and keep pace with compliance obligations.

ThirdEye general manager Hamish Shaw named progress in AI as a central reason for the partnership. ThirdEye general manager Hamish Shaw said, “The financial crime landscape has never been static, bad actors are always evolving new techniques to keep us on our toes. Now, with AI accelerating the threats, it’s so crucial for those of us on the right side to work together to ensure we stay ahead.”

ID-Pal CEO and founder Colum Lyons said, “Fraud and financial crime know no borders, and increasingly, neither does the technology used to commit them. ThirdEye has built a strong AML proposition across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and we’re delighted they’ve chosen ID-Pal to power identity and business verification within it. Together, we can help organisations establish trust at onboarding and manage fraud and compliance risk throughout the customer lifecycle.”
