Dragos has completed the acquisitions of NetRise and runZero, broadening the reach of its platform across connected devices, networks, cloud systems, software supply chains and core operational infrastructure.
The deals were finalised shortly after Accenture closed a majority investment in Dragos, an arrangement intended to give the company extra funding and a wider international footprint to scale its platform more quickly. With the two acquisitions now complete, Dragos says organisations will be able to monitor and protect their entire xOT footprint from a single vantage point.
Robert M. Lee, previously chief executive, has taken on the additional title of Chairman of the Board. Dragos says it will keep operating independently under its existing leadership and will maintain the vendor-neutral approach it considers essential to protecting infrastructure that typically runs on equipment from many different suppliers. runZero chief executive HD Moore, NetRise chief executive Thomas Pace, and NetRise chief technology officer and chief scientist Michael Scott are joining Dragos along with their full teams, and will oversee folding their respective businesses into the Dragos platform while continuing to support their existing clients.
runZero brings asset visibility and exposure management capabilities, drawing together IT, OT and cloud asset data that organisations already hold so that security teams gain a fuller picture of their xOT estate. NetRise contributes visibility into the firmware and software running on individual devices, flagging issues such as outdated components and hardcoded credentials, and helping organisations meet documentation demands under NERC CIP, NIS2 and TSA directives, among other frameworks. The acquisitions follow Dragos’s purchase of Phosphorus earlier in the year, made to strengthen protection for the vast number of connected devices used across critical infrastructure and other operational networks.
Dragos has also added to its board. Harpreet Sidhu, Accenture’s Global Cybersecurity Lead, and Luis Luque, its Global OT Cybersecurity Lead, are joining alongside John Coltsmann from Corporate Development. Dmitri Alperovitch, co-founder and chairman of Silverado Policy Accelerator and former chief technology officer and co-founder of CrowdStrike, is returning to the board. Dragos says the acquisitions will also deepen its Intelligence Fabric, the decade-long store of OT-specific telemetry and incident-response data that underpins its platform, which its EmberAI tool will draw on to give analysts faster, more detailed guidance.
