Cowbell’s OMNI agents turn cyber risk signals into action

Cowbell, an AI-native provider of cyber and specialty insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has rolled out Risk Advisor, a personalised AI agent designed to hand each policyholder an evidence-based roadmap for cutting their cyber risk.

The new agents sit within OMNI, the InsurTech’s AI-native Decision Intelligence System. They convert the risk data Cowbell gathers on an ongoing basis into a ranked list of steps that each business can take to bolster its cyber resilience. Each Risk Advisor is tailored to the individual policyholder’s security posture and policy details. It draws together Cowbell Factors, Spotlights, security findings, inside-out connector data and live threat intelligence to pinpoint the most pressing issues, explain their significance and suggest practical responses.

Many firms hold large volumes of security data but lack the time or know-how to make sense of it. Risk Advisor aims to close that gap. It shows which factors are shaping a risk score, which findings and Spotlights deserve attention first, what a given vulnerability means for the organisation, and which measures best suit its systems and exposures. For businesses using AI, the tool also interprets three dedicated AI Cowbell Factors: AI Exposure, which covers observability; AI Vulnerability, which covers autonomy; and AI Assurance, which covers governance. Recommendations are ranked by urgency and by how much risk they could remove, and each one comes with its rationale and supporting evidence.

Over 60 Cowbell Connectors can feed Risk Advisor with deeper insight into a policyholder’s environment. The agent summarises what connected tools reveal and proposes mitigations matched to the configurations it detects.

Risk Advisor relies on OMNI’s self-healing operational ontology, a continuously validated knowledge graph of every insured business, alongside Cowbell’s Global Risk Pool, which spans more than 55 million businesses. Routine changes are absorbed automatically, while significant discrepancies are flagged for human review. Where specialist help is needed, the agent can refer policyholders to Cowbell Resiliency Services (CRS) and the firm’s in-house cybersecurity team.

Cowbell co-founder and chief product officer Rajeev Gupta said, “A 40-person manufacturer shouldn’t need a team of cybersecurity specialists to understand the risks it faces.

“With OMNI, every Cowbell policyholder gets their own AI Risk Advisor, grounded in their business, security posture, and policy context. It continuously interprets the signals around that business, prioritizes what matters, explains the evidence supporting its recommendations, and connects the policyholder with Cowbell’s cybersecurity experts when human guidance is needed. This is how cyber insurance becomes an active part of a company’s resilience, rather than a document sitting in a drawer.”
