Dotfile unveils Autonomy AI agent for KYB compliance

Dotfile

Dotfile, an AI-powered compliance operating system, has launched Autonomy, a self-decisioning AI agent designed to automate KYB case reviews.

The company, known for its focus on intelligent regulatory technology, has positioned Autonomy as the first fully autonomous AI platform in the sector.

The release of Autonomy addresses the growing demand among financial institutions and FinTech firms to reduce the burden of routine compliance processes. The system is intended to cut costs, speed up onboarding, and ensure organisations can keep up with evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining oversight and auditability.

Dotfile operates as a compliance operating system powered by artificial intelligence. Its solutions help clients manage regulatory obligations in areas such as KYB and anti-money laundering (AML), combining automation with human oversight to strike a balance between efficiency and trust.

The newly launched Autonomy platform introduces a multi-agent AI architecture. At its core is an orchestrator that coordinates specialised review agents capable of automatically processing compliance cases. Routine tasks are handled without human intervention, with only complex matters escalated to manual reviewers.

The system goes beyond case review, offering an extendable suite of expert agents able to remediate alerts, verify identities, analyse ownership structures, assess creditworthiness, monitor digital footprints, and generate suspicious activity reports. Users can even create custom agents for tailored tasks by simply describing requirements in natural language. Importantly, each agent provides audit trails and contextual explanations to ensure transparency.

Dotfile has emphasised the measurable benefits of the platform. Clients adopting Autonomy report major gains such as reducing case review times from hours to seconds, compressing customer onboarding from days to minutes, and processing hundreds of cases simultaneously thanks to bulk automation. These improvements also translate into reduced manual intervention, higher step-through rates, and lower operational overhead.

Dotfile CEO and cofounder Vasco Alexandre said, “Our approach delivers huge efficiency gains, while keeping humans in the loop. We think this is the winning combination for an AI that is trusted by our clients and regulators alike.” He added, “AI in compliance holds big promises, but the hard part is implementing all the necessary guardrails that will allow professionals to confidently hand work over to it. This is what we have been focused on from the beginning.”
