Fujifilm drives automation with M-Files partnership

FUJIFILM Business Innovation Australia has spent nearly a decade building its automation expertise through its partnership with M-Files.

The collaboration has allowed the company to deliver efficient, adaptable systems to its clients while addressing increasingly complex regulatory and operational challenges.

Murray Mitchell, professional services manager at FUJIFILM Process Automation, explained that the decision to join the M-Files partner programme was driven by the flexibility the platform offers to integrators and solution providers. He said the ease of deploying automation through M-Files has been crucial in enabling FUJIFILM to deliver solutions rapidly without compromising client requirements.

FUJIFILM’s solutions have centred on a range of tangible benefits for clients. These include automating repetitive tasks to free staff for higher-value activities, reducing human error through improved accuracy, enhancing compliance by increasing process transparency, and replacing paper-based processes with digital workflows to lower costs. The company has also highlighted how faster decision-making and improved visibility across processes strengthen competitiveness.

According to Mitchell, one of the standout advantages of M-Files lies in its pace of innovation. He pointed to the platform’s relevance across a wide range of industries, its flexible integrations and customisation options, and its strategic partnership with Microsoft as evidence of its ability to evolve alongside client needs.

Automation and AI are also playing a critical role in transforming how FUJIFILM’s customers operate. Mitchell highlighted how contextual search functions allow knowledge workers to locate relevant information quickly, enabling more informed and timely business decisions.

At one client organisation, AI-driven search is already helping the contracts team scan supplier contracts for clauses and terms, ensuring compliance and accelerating approval processes. Plans are now underway to extend this capability into agentic AI, where the system will autonomously flag exceptions, further reducing administrative burdens.

Reflecting on his team’s broader philosophy, Mitchell added a simple maxim: “Don’t sweat the small stuff, focus on what you can change.”
