India's QNu Labs secures ₹200 crore Series A1 round

QNu Labs, a deep-tech cybersecurity company that builds quantum-safe security solutions, has closed a ₹200 crore ($21m) Series A1 funding round, taking its total capital raised to ₹375 crore ($39.4m).

The round was led by the National Quantum Mission and Speciale Invest, with additional backing from Sony Innovation Fund, Gaja Capital, Artha Ventures and other investors.

QNu Labs plans to channel the new funds into expanding research and development, strengthening its technological edge, and growing its sales and go-to-market operations both domestically and internationally.

A portion of the capital will also support the firm’s contribution to a government-backed RDI project building the technological foundation for India’s Quantum Secure and Sensing Networks. Beyond this, the company intends to broaden its quantum-safe offering into sensing and AI applications, extend its reach across critical industries, and build out the infrastructure needed to meet rising international demand for quantum-safe migration.

Having spent roughly a decade developing its technology, QNu Labs is now shifting focus from innovation to scaling adoption globally, as businesses brace for a major overhaul of cybersecurity standards.

QNu Labs, founded in 2016 out of IIT Madras by Srinivasa Rao Aluri and Sunil Gupta, describes itself as the architect of India’s quantum-secure digital backbone. The company positions itself as a category leader offering quantum-safe infrastructure and platform layers that let clients adopt the technology without disrupting existing operations. Its technology is used across banking, finance, government, automotive and telecoms.

Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, QNu Labs said, “India has moved early on in the quantum era. The National Quantum Mission, through its IIT Madras hub, has laid the foundation and with implementation timelines published in 2026 across sectors, quantum-safe technology is shifting from policy to commercial deployment.

“QNu Labs has spent over a decade building this stack and has already deployed across government, critical infrastructure and BFSI. Investment in indigenous capability now gives India a clear opportunity: secure its expanding digital infrastructure with sovereign technology that meets global standards and competes in global markets.”
