Jumio, an AI-powered identity intelligence provider, has completed the global rollout of its reusable identity verification technology with an expansion into Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The expansion brings selfie.DONE to customers across EMEA, giving users who have already completed an identity check the option to verify themselves through a selfie when they return, rather than submitting an identity document again.
Jumio said the technology is designed to help organisations balance smoother digital experiences with regulatory requirements in EMEA, including GDPR, PSD2 and AMLD. Compliance checks are conducted in real time as part of the verification process.
Unlike systems that rely on previously stored verification results, selfie.DONE requires user consent each time an identity is reused. The process also incorporates fresh biometric matching and risk analysis.
The solution operates through a consent-based model and is supported by Jumio’s global identity graph, which the company says contains more than 75 million legitimate and fraudulent identities and grows by approximately 85,000 identities each day.
Jumio said deployments of selfie.DONE have delivered increases of up to 20% in verification completion rates. It also said as many as 60% of returning trusted users have been able to complete verification without presenting an identity document.
The EMEA rollout follows previous launches across Latin America, North America and Asia-Pacific, with Jumio saying the solution is now available worldwide across the regions in which it operates.
While the technology is being demonstrated to gaming operators at SBC Summit Lisbon, where Jumio is exhibiting at booth E116, the company is also targeting financial services, FinTech, crypto, marketplaces and mobility businesses.
For these sectors, selfie.DONE can support digital identity verification and ongoing customer authentication, while helping streamline processes such as player registration and repeat verification in the gaming industry.
Selfie.DONE forms part of Jumio’s wider identity platform, which combines biometric authentication, automation, liveness detection, machine learning and no-code orchestration across hundreds of data sources.
The company said its technology supports fraud and financial crime prevention, customer onboarding and KYC and AML compliance. Jumio has processed more than one billion transactions across more than 200 countries and territories.
Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Jumio operates across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. The company is backed by Centana Growth Partners, Great Hill Partners and Millennium Technology Value Partners.
Jumio president and CPTO Bala Kumar said, “Bringing selfie.DONE to EMEA completes our worldwide rollout of our reusable identity solution, shifting the industry from static, point-in-time checks to continuous, connected, and contextual identity intelligence on a global scale. In markets where regulatory scrutiny and user expectations for friction-free digital experiences are equally high, selfie.DONE proves that conversion and compliance are not a trade-off. By putting explicit user consent and privacy at the core of our global identity graph, we empower businesses to instantly recognize trusted users while ensuring rigorous security and privacy standards.”
