Prompt Security, a pioneering firm in GenAI security, announced today that it has successfully secured $18 million in Series A funding.

The round was spearheaded by Jump Capital, with significant contributions from Hetz Ventures, Ridge Ventures, and notable tech giants Okta and F5.

The substantial investment underlines the urgency and necessity of bolstering GenAI security within corporate environments. Prompt Security has committed to deploying these new funds to enhance its security framework, aimed at safeguarding enterprises from the burgeoning threats posed by GenAI technologies. This includes securing various AI touchpoints within the organization such as browsers, coding assistants, and proprietary applications, thereby ensuring both data privacy and comprehensive security.

Prompt Security’s platform is designed to provide robust protection against unique AI-specific risks. By inspecting AI prompts and model responses, the platform can effectively block malicious content and prevent data leaks. It also tackles advanced threats like shadow AI, prompt injections, and AI model jailbreaks, offering a governance model that ensures all GenAI tools within an organization comply with strict security policies.

The company, having emerged from stealth mode in January, has seen rapid growth, quadrupling its revenue and expanding its customer base fivefold. It now boasts several Fortune 500 companies as clients, emphasizing its significant impact on the enterprise security landscape.

Prompt Security’s foundational strength is bolstered by its leadership team, featuring Co-Founder and CEO Itamar Golan, who previously spearheaded AI initiatives at Check Point Software Technologies and Orca Security. Co-Founder and CTO Lior Drihem, who brings an 18-year tenure at Check Point Software Technologies, complements this expertise, having collaborated with Golan on groundbreaking cybersecurity projects.

Itamar Golan, Co-Founder and CEO of Prompt Security said, “As enterprises accelerate their adoption of GenAI, so do the associated risks. This funding supercharges our mission to enable the safe use and deployment of GenAI in enterprises by mitigating such risks.”

Additionally, the firm has previously demonstrated significant strides in securing AI environments, particularly with the deployment of the first comprehensive security and governance solution for Copilot in Microsoft 365.

Saurabh Sharma, Partner at Jump Capital, said, “Prompt Security’s innovative platform secures organizations from the already widespread use of AI, and we are convinced that they are well-positioned to conquer one of the fastest-growing markets in security today. We’re excited to support their mission to protect businesses from emerging AI threats, and we believe their approach will redefine GenAI Security.”
