Theta Lake has announced a significant expansion of its global footprint, including new dedicated data centres in China, following a record year of customer growth and product innovation.
The expansion comes in response to growing demand for data-sovereignty-based cloud archiving and the need for organisations operating in regulated markets — including China, India, and South Africa — to meet increasingly complex regional compliance requirements such as SEBI and POPIA.
Theta Lake provides AI-native communications governance and compliance solutions through its Risk and Compliance Suite. The platform serves customers across more than 12 countries and 11 industry verticals, partnering with major unified communications and collaboration (UCC) providers to help regulated organisations capture, archive, and analyse digital communications.
The company’s latest product developments centre on its AI communication and interaction governance suite, which includes the ability to detect and investigate “Jailbreak Behavior” and other unethical or risky interactions between humans and AI tools. The suite also covers surveillance, review, investigations, eDiscovery, and Insider Risk monitoring. Theta Lake’s AI detection and review features are patented and ISO 42001 certified, with over 30% of its customer base now actively using these capabilities.
In 2025, Theta Lake delivered over 320 industry-first capabilities — averaging more than one enhancement per business day — ranging from recordkeeping reconciliation health features to expanded geographic compliance coverage. The company now holds 17 patents, including US 12,464,032 B2 and 18/306,826, covering deep AI infrastructure and visual content analysis in digital communications such as onscreen content and whiteboards.
The Theta Lake Developer Platform has also seen strong traction, with over 250 third-party developers utilising more than 150 API endpoints, generating over 120m weekly API interactions. Theta Lake added over 140 new customers to its Risk and Compliance Suite in the past year, surpassing its previous record of more than 100 new customers in 2024.
The platform has also achieved a Gartner Peer Insights rating of 5 out of 5 stars with a 100% “would recommend” rating based on 23 reviews as of 24 March 2026 — the only platform in the market to achieve this distinction. Theta Lake was also scored highest across five of six use cases in the 2025 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Digital Communications Governance and Archiving Solutions.
Webex by Cisco VP of product management Amit Barave said, “Cisco has long been a leader in providing comprehensive security, compliance, and privacy solutions. Our partnership with Theta Lake is pivotal to continue empowering our customers, particularly those in highly regulated industries, to not only meet but exceed their compliance requirements across all forms of digital communication. Theta Lake CEO and co-founder Devin Redmond said, “Our success in solving our customers’ compliance needs is driving what we know is industry segment best growth on multiple fronts. We are proud and confident that we are delivering compliance innovation that matters in the market, and the growth in customers as well as the utilization of our technology by customers and our UCC partners proves the value of our efforts. We are excited for an even bigger year of innovation, new usage of our AI communication governance module and growth in the overall adoption of the Theta Lake Risk and Compliance suite for digital communications governance.”
