ThreatMate, a Delaware-based cybersecurity startup, announced on Thursday that it has successfully raised $3.2m in a seed funding round.
According to Security Week, the round was led by Top Down Ventures’ Founders Fund I, with significant contributions from Blu Ventures and Runtime Ventures.
The company, founded in 2021, has developed an AI-powered attack surface management platform specifically designed for managed service providers (MSPs). This innovative platform aims to offer enterprise-level cyber protections to small and medium-sized businesses, focusing on enhancing security measures against potential threats and providing extensive visibility into clients’ attack surfaces.
The newly acquired funds are earmarked for accelerating product development and expanding ThreatMate’s go-to-market operations. Additionally, the investment will facilitate deeper industry partnerships, enabling ThreatMate to enhance its offerings and reach in the cybersecurity market.
The platform integrates advanced analytics, continuous monitoring, and a multi-tenant design, allowing MSPs to manage and secure their customers’ internal, external, and cloud environments from a single dashboard. By leveraging AI, ThreatMate’s solution can identify, prioritize, and mitigate vulnerabilities before they lead to attacks, thus providing proactive security with less complexity and lower costs than traditional enterprise solutions.
ThreatMate also offers a suite of cybersecurity tools, including automated penetration testing, risk scoring, dark web monitoring and alerting, cybersecurity audits, and asset discovery capabilities. These features collectively help in fortifying the security posture of MSPs and their clientele.
Top Down Ventures founding partner Chris Day praised the company’s approach, stating, “ThreatMate is tackling one of the most pressing challenges in cybersecurity today: giving MSPs the tools to manage and secure their customers’ rapidly expanding attack surfaces. Their approach combines AI, machine learning, and automation into a seamless platform that MSPs can operationalize immediately.”
