TRM Labs and Sumsub, a global verification company specialising in identity checks and compliance tools, have entered a strategic partnership.
The integration is designed to help crypto platforms and virtual asset service providers (VASPs) better detect and prevent financial crime. By combining blockchain analytics with advanced verification technology, the two firms aim to deliver a unified view of identity and on-chain risk, enabling faster compliance decisions and stronger protections against illicit activity.
TRM Labs provides blockchain intelligence tools that allow organisations to monitor transactions, assess wallet addresses, and identify suspicious behaviour in real time. Its open-source fraud reporting platform, Chainabuse, recently highlighted a 456% rise in generative AI-enabled scams between May 2024 and April 2025 compared with the previous year.
Sumsub, meanwhile, offers a verification and compliance platform that integrates identity checks, fraud detection, and crypto monitoring. According to its own data, fraud across the crypto industry increased by 48% in 2024, with fraudulent attempts accounting for 2.2% of all verifications conducted globally.
The integration allows Sumsub users to tap directly into TRM’s intelligence. This means compliance teams can screen wallet addresses, score transactions, and monitor risk indicators in real time from a single dashboard within Sumsub’s Crypto Monitoring solution. Key features include early detection of risky wallet addresses, advanced risk scoring against threat categories, unified real-time monitoring, and automated compliance workflows that reduce manual effort and false positives.
Clients with existing TRM subscriptions can connect them to Sumsub via a “Bring Your Own Key” model, which allows organisations to maintain control of their data while benefiting from Sumsub’s integrated monitoring capabilities.
Ilya Brovin, Sumsub chief growth officer, said, “We are excited about the partnership with TRM Labs, which enhances our Crypto Monitoring solution by providing advanced blockchain risk intelligence to detect fraud and financial crime before transactions occur. Together, we enable flexible, real-time compliance decisions tailored to diverse risk profiles. This collaboration reflects a significant step in Sumsub’s platform maturity, offering clients integrated access to leading blockchain analytics providers. At Sumsub, we combine blockchain intelligence, identity verification, and behavioral fraud detection within a single platform—helping customers safeguard every step of the crypto journey.”
Ari Redbord, TRM global head of policy, said, “As illicit actors evolve, so must our tools. That’s why we’re excited to partner with Sumsub — combining TRM’s real-time blockchain intelligence with their identity and behavioral fraud risk signals into a single view. In a fast-moving crypto landscape, this integration helps organizations proactively prevent fraud, stay compliant, and build trust.”
