Wordwatch debuts compliance suite to tackle data gaps

Wordwatch, a communications governance and archiving platform, has announced the launch of its expanded compliance suite designed for regulated organisations.

The new platform introduces unified capture, data governance and reconciliation as integrated capabilities, aimed at addressing critical compliance gaps across the industry.

The company said the new platform comes in response to mounting pressure on firms to meet increasingly strict regulatory demands. Independent research commissioned by Wordwatch revealed that only 17% of regulated firms have a unified compliance archive, while the majority remain reliant on disconnected recorders and legacy systems, leaving them at risk of non-compliance and regulatory penalties.

Founded to serve regulated organisations, Wordwatch provides a platform that helps compliance, surveillance, legal and IT teams manage communications more effectively. Its technology allows firms to consolidate voice and digital records into a single repository that is transparent, audit-ready and capable of unlocking additional business value from communications data.

The newly launched Wordwatch Compliance Platform aims to provide seamless control across the full communications lifecycle. It includes Wordwatch Archive, a central repository that preserves the authenticity of recordings and reduces response times to regulator requests; Wordwatch Capture, which brings all conversations under one umbrella for storage or forwarding to the archive; Wordwatch Govern, which automates compliance actions and supports AI-driven investigations; and Wordwatch Assure, a continuous validation tool that ensures data completeness and audit readiness.

Additional research from Wordwatch highlights the breadth of the problem facing compliance teams. The survey found that 79% of firms still rely on legacy recorders, 40% are missing contact centre data, and just 27% have full end-to-end visibility of their communications records. One in five respondents said regulators had requested more than 25 full communications records in the past year, equivalent to once every fortnight.

The survey also highlighted internal barriers to compliance upgrades, with 52% of respondents citing budget and resource constraints, and 49% in the financial sector noting concerns over the risks of migrating historical data. Wordwatch said its modular design and open-format, migration-free architecture directly address these challenges by removing vendor lock-in and reducing risk.

Wordwatch managing director William Davenport said, “The survey findings underscore the real-world pressure compliance teams now face: near-constant scrutiny from regulators – with some firms being asked for full records every couple of weeks – and the risk of fines or enforcement action if they cannot retrieve complete communications records quickly, accurately and defensibly. That’s where the new Wordwatch Compliance Platform excels for regulated organisations. This is no longer about ticking boxes, but about real risk. When regulators are asking you for complete records every couple of weeks, you can’t afford blind spots or manual processes, and you need to make sure your record-keeping is adhering to regulations.”

He added, “Our clients, from smaller firms through to Enterprise, want a platform they can trust, not just to store data but to future-proof their operations and prove compliance, fast. Wordwatch delivers confidence across every channel, region and retention policy without complexity or compromise, and we’re proud to be making enterprise-grade compliance software accessible to firms of all sizes, not just the biggest players.”
