Berlin-based cybersecurity startup revel8, which specialises in employee training against AI-powered cyberattacks, has secured €5.7m in seed funding.
The round was led by Peak, with participation from Fortino Capital, Merantix Capital, and several business angels including Mario Götze, Sergej Epp of Sysdig, Michael Schrank of Adidas, Rogier Fischer of Hadrian, and Celonis co-founder Alexander Rinke. Including earlier pre-seed funding led by Merantix Capital, revel8 has now raised €7m since its founding in 2024.
The company builds AI-native simulations designed to help organisations counter modern cyber threats. Its platform uses deepfakes and open-source intelligence (OSINT) to replicate attack scenarios within hours, tailoring exercises to each employee. The personalised approach, likened to a “Spotify playlist of attacks,” adapts dynamically to an individual’s role, behaviour, and performance to strengthen enterprise resilience.
With the latest funds, revel8 plans to expand its team, enhance its enterprise-focused features, and grow its international footprint. The founders have set an ambitious goal of training 10 million “human firewalls” to help close the gap between increasingly sophisticated attackers and corporate defences.
