SmartSearch and Twenty7Tec have strengthened their existing collaboration to enhance identity verification for advisers, lenders and financial providers.
The move sees SmartSearch deepen its partnership with Twenty7Tec by extending its SmartDoc identity technology into the adviser platform. The integration aims to support faster onboarding, reduce compliance friction and improve fraud detection within sectors such as mortgages, protection and wealth. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
SmartSearch specialises in electronic identity verification, AML screening and ongoing monitoring for regulated firms, while Twenty7Tec delivers advisory software that streamlines processes for mortgage advisers, lenders and financial professionals.
SmartSearch’s latest integration centres on SmartDoc, a document scanning and facial recognition system powered by Daon. SmartDoc enables advisers to match official identification documents with a selfie image, using artificial intelligence to detect fraudulent submissions in real time. The technology supports more than 200 official identity document types across 200 jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, Twenty7Tec will integrate the tool directly into its ADVICE Platform, allowing users to conduct checks without leaving the system. The capability works alongside existing AML integrations and aims to speed up onboarding while meeting evolving regulatory expectations.
Through the expanded service, advisers will gain access to instant AML and electronic identity checks that SmartSearch claims can achieve pass rates of up to 97%, completed in seconds. This improvement promises both operational efficiencies and stronger protection for consumers and firms handling compliance risk.
