1Kosmos and Hopae, a digital identity infrastructure platform provider, have announced a global partnership focused on extending cross-border verification of government-issued digital identities.
The partnership is aimed at modernising onboarding and remote identity checks by integrating Hopae Connect into the 1Kosmos platform, expanding global eID coverage so organisations can verify digital identities across countries without relying on centralised databases.
Both companies are positioning the collaboration as a response to KYC friction and rising identity fraud risk, with the original announcement noting that traditional processes can be slow, repetitive, and document-heavy, contributing to onboarding drop-off rates of 30–50%.
1Kosmos offers a platform that unifies identity proofing with passwordless authentication, targeting organisations that want to raise assurance levels while improving the user experience during login and onboarding.
Hopae provides digital identity infrastructure, with its Hopae Connect capability positioned as a way to support secure and interoperable consumption of digital identity schemes and wallets across multiple jurisdictions.
The companies said the joint offering will help reduce new customer onboarding time by delivering “turnkey eID consumption on a global basis” and by supporting stringent requirements for remote identity verification, including eIDAS 2.0.
The press release also framed the partnership within a wider shift towards trusted digital identity, driven by governments and the private sector, and highlighted regulatory pressure in Europe where eIDAS 2.0 is expected to make acceptance of the EUDI Wallet mandatory for regulated companies.
The announcement said the integration is designed to deliver higher assurance, automation, compliance, and operational efficiency, with stated benefits including expanded global eID coverage, support for regulatory requirements such as eIDAS 2.0, and broad compatibility with standards and data formats to enable interoperability across identity ecosystems.
1Kosmos COO Huzefa Olia said, “This partnership with Hopae enables 1Kosmos to provide customers with high-assurance online identity verification that supports more than 60 global eID schemes and wallets,” adding, “Together, we’re enabling organizations to move away from document based identity verification and replace it with verified, government recognized digital credentials.”
Hopae CRO and Europe GM Bertrand Bouteloup said, “This partnership with 1Kosmos is strategic for Hopae,” adding, “It underscores our ability to complement and extend digital identity verification platforms with plug-and-play support for Global eID.”
The companies said availability is immediate, with the 1Kosmos platform now offering Hopae Connect and support for Global eID.
