Sumsub, a global verification and anti-fraud platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Approvely, a FinTech infrastructure provider serving regulated and high-risk industries across North America, embedding automated identity verification directly into Approvely’s payments and risk management ecosystem.
The integration sees Sumsub’s know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) screening built into Approvely’s onboarding and payments stack. The tie-up is designed to give gaming merchants a single, compliant path from user verification through to transaction processing, without introducing additional friction into the customer journey.
Sumsub’s platform covers more than 220 countries and territories, providing the jurisdictional reach Approvely needed to support its merchant base at scale.
The partnership brings together Approvely’s established presence supporting hundreds of gaming merchants in the US market with Sumsub’s footprint across both domestic and international markets. The combined offering standardises KYC and AML screening within a single operational framework. For gaming operators scaling cross-border, this is intended to deliver a more consistent and defensible onboarding experience.
The two companies identified a growing compliance gap as Approvely expanded across regulated markets. Gaming operators have faced rising levels of synthetic identity fraud, multi-accounting, bonus abuse, and organised first-party fraud, alongside pressure to maintain fast onboarding for legitimate users. Ensuring consistent verification standards across multiple jurisdictions had become a key challenge for merchants operating at scale.
Through the integration, Approvely’s merchant base can expect stronger approval quality at onboarding as automated identity checks reduce fraudulent or misrepresented accounts entering the payment flow. Merchants should also see fewer identity-related issues downstream, with consistent screening across jurisdictions reducing the need for manual review and closing compliance gaps. Legitimate users are expected to benefit from faster, less interrupted onboarding, while operators gain a unified compliance framework spanning both US and international markets.
Approvely CEO Chelsie Cooper said, “We were excited about this partnership because we already support many of the same operators.
“Bringing our platforms together creates a direct path from verification to checkout, without adding friction to the user journey. Sumsub strengthens compliance at the front end while allowing payments to move efficiently on the back end. That balance between regulatory discipline and product experience is important to us, and it’s why this collaboration makes sense.”
Sumsub business development director, Americas, Anastasia Shvechkova said, “Regulated industries like gaming demand verification that is both rigorous and fast.
“Our partnership with Approvely reflects our commitment to helping businesses in compliance-intensive verticals onboard users with confidence, reduce fraud at the source, and scale across jurisdictions without operational drag. Identity is the foundation — and together, we’re making it stronger.”
