Summa Tech closes AML gap in client onboarding

Summa

Summa Tech, the company behind cloud-based client onboarding platform Onboarder, has introduced an anti-money laundering checking feature within the tool.

The addition allows AML checks to be carried out directly inside the onboarding process, keeping a client’s details, documents and compliance steps within a single system rather than split across separate tools.

Many firms using comparable onboarding platforms have previously needed a separate system to run AML checks, adding extra cost on top of the paperwork and sign-up already managed through their existing software.

Onboarder’s new feature removes that separate step, letting users run automated AML checks without leaving the platform. The capability has been developed in partnership with SmartSearch, bringing its established checking technology into the Onboarder workflow.

Onboarder has been built specifically with smaller firms in mind, a segment that has often found it harder to access this kind of technology, and the new feature is intended to bring them greater efficiency alongside stronger compliance.

Summa Tech CEO Nathan Keeley said, “We built Onboarder to take the manual work out of bringing on a new client and AML checks were the one part firms still often had to handle somewhere else.

“That’s no longer the case with our new feature, which uses the existing, trusted technology developed by SmartSearch. By using Onboarder, accountancy firms now have all the information and processes, such as letter of engagement, e-signing, KYC and risk assessment, all in an easy-to-use workflow.”
