RegTech firm, Wordwatch, has published a short self-assessment for compliance and IT teams that need to show they could move off their current communications recorder.
According to Wordwatch, under Article 28(8) of the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), every ICT service supporting a critical or important function needs an exit plan, and that plan has to be documented and tested.
Call recording sits in scope. Recorders running on unsupported operating systems are the kind of component resilience testing tends to expose. So is the state of the records themselves: plenty of regulated organisations couldn’t leave their current system with a complete set of records, in a format a new platform can read.
The self-assessment takes under eight minutes and ends with a view on whether a firm could leave its recorder vendor and which gaps to close first. It also sets out the questions to put to that vendor.
