Fleuret AI raises €4m to automate penetration testing

Fleuret AI, a French startup that uses agentic AI to automate penetration testing, has completed a €4m pre-seed funding round to accelerate its goal of making offensive security available to companies of every size across Europe.

RAISE Ventures led the investment, with Auriga Cyber Ventures, Wind Capital and Better Angle also taking part, together with a group of prominent business angels drawn from the cybersecurity industry. The capital will go towards hiring in AI, software engineering and offensive security, as well as speeding up development of the platform.

The company is targeting a gap in how businesses test their defences. Organisations update their systems constantly, while the bar for security keeps rising. This is especially true under NIS2, which requires more and more organisations to show how resilient their security is. Even so, penetration testing still largely depends on periodic audits, which capture a system at a single point in time. A deployment made only days later can alter the attack surface and leave those findings out of date.

Fleuret wants to replace this point-in-time model with ongoing protection built around five pillars. These are identifying exposed systems, discovering vulnerabilities, demonstrating that they can be exploited, supporting remediation, and confirming that fixes have worked.

The work is done by two AI agents, Emile and Champollion. They chart a company’s environment, examine its applications, APIs and infrastructure, and then attempt to exploit any weaknesses they uncover. Each issue is reported with a proof of compromise showing in practical terms how it could be exploited. The platform also keeps monitoring the attack surface and can launch fresh tests when the system changes.

The startup is also developing tools to make sure vulnerabilities are actually resolved. These include ranking issues by how exploitable they are, connecting with the software engineering teams already rely on, re-testing automatically, and producing reports that confirm a fix has taken effect.

Fleuret AI CEO and co-founder Yanis Grigy said, “We do not simply want to automate penetration testing as it exists today. Our ambition is to build the offensive security layer that will keep companies secure all year round, whatever their size. This round gives us the means to accelerate that vision and to build a platform designed for enterprise environments from day one.”

RAISE Ventures co-head Thibaut Schlaeppi said, “AI has changed the nature of cyberattacks by putting powerful tools within everyone’s reach, often for free. Organisations have to test their security against every attack technique, including the newest. Fleuret built its platform to evolve continuously and stay a step ahead of attackers, with a team that puts AI to work for deep offensive expertise. We are convinced Fleuret can become the reference in offensive security in Europe.”
