Prediction markets push PhillipCapital to renew Eventus

Eventus, a provider of large-scale trade surveillance and financial risk tools, has secured a further long-term extension of its partnership with Phillip Capital, the US futures commission merchant (FCM) and broker-dealer.

Under the renewed agreement, PhillipCapital will keep running the Eventus Validus platform to monitor trading activity across every market it serves. That coverage spans US equities, options and fixed income, along with global futures products and prediction markets.

This is not the first time the two firms have prolonged their arrangement. The latest renewal adds another chapter to an existing long-term relationship, showing that PhillipCapital has kept Validus at the centre of its compliance operations as its business has expanded.

According to PhillipCapital, a firm that operates as both a clearing broker-dealer and an FCM cannot rely on a single, standardised approach to surveillance. The company said its choice to stay with Eventus rested on three factors, saying the decision “came down to reliability, flexibility and true partnership.”

Eventus builds trade surveillance and financial risk technology designed to operate at scale. Its Validus platform is used by firms to detect and manage potential misconduct across multiple asset classes.

Eventus CEO Cameron Routh said, “We’re thrilled that as PhillipCapital has grown and prospered, Validus remains the trade surveillance platform of choice for meeting its diverse compliance needs across asset classes. Our enduring relationship is a testament to the firm’s commitment to a robust surveillance program and collaboration with our team to ensure we continue to meet its evolving requirements.”

Phillip Capital Inc. market surveillance analyst Ben Reynold said, “At PhillipCapital, upholding market integrity and robust risk management is foundational to everything we do. Trade surveillance isn’t just a regulatory checkbox for us; it’s an essential line of defense that protects our clients, our firm and the broader markets. Effective surveillance ensures we maintain the highest standards of trust and compliance as we continue to grow and innovate.”

Reynold added, “We needed a platform that gives us deep visibility and robust alerting capabilities without generating unmanageable noise. Eventus has consistently delivered a system we can trust, backed by a support and account team that actually understands our business model and is always willing to collaborate when we need to fine-tune our setup.”
