Apiax deal puts Behavox on a path to one compliance platform

Behavox has acquired Apiax, the Zurich-based embedded compliance specialist, in a move that pushes its platform into cross-border and content compliance.

Apiax builds software that translates financial regulation into machine-readable rules, which firms then run inside their own internal systems. The deal sits alongside Pathfinder, Behavox’s existing product for tracking regulatory change.

Until now, financial institutions have tended to source each stage of the compliance process separately. One vendor, such as CUBE, might supply regulatory intelligence, while another, such as aosphere, handles the interpretation of rules, and a third provides surveillance and archiving.

None of these tools share a common record. With Apiax on board, Behavox brings the full sequence under one roof. Pathfinder flags changes in regulation, Apiax turns those requirements into rules enforced where business decisions are made, and Behavox’s surveillance and archive tools track and document the outcomes through a single evidence trail. The company says this cuts manual work for clients and lowers the expense of maintaining several standalone products.

The purchase forms part of a broader European push by Behavox. In August 2026, the firm launched a Milan office. It has also posted a 213% rise in European annual recurring revenue across the last two years. In June 2026, Behavox secured a $175m preferred equity investment from HPS Investment Partners, which is part of BlackRock.

Behavox operates an AI-native controls platform covering regulatory change management, surveillance and archiving for large financial institutions worldwide.

Apiax, which is headquartered in Zurich, contributes engineering and regulatory specialists based in Switzerland, Germany, Portugal and the UK. Existing Apiax clients will keep their current product and support, now underpinned by Behavox’s research and development spending, scale and worldwide customer success organisation.

Apiax co-founder and CEO Philip Schoch said, “Apiax was built to embed compliance where the work happens. Joining Behavox gives our technology the platform, engineering resources, and distribution to reach far more institutions.”

Behavox co-founder and chief operating officer Kiryl Trembovolski said, “This acquisition extends our platform from regulatory intelligence through to monitoring and evidence. Apiax adds the interpretation layer that turns regulation into action at the point of business.”

Behavox chief revenue officer Nabeel Ebrahim said, “Customers want fewer compliance vendors without compromising on technology. Apiax moves Behavox closer to being the single platform they use for compliance.”
