AutoRek, the enterprise financial controls and reconciliation automation leader, has acquired Grath, an AI-focused FinTech tackling reconciliation and compliance problems across financial services.
The deal hands AutoRek customers a fresh set of AI-enabled tools for automating reconciliation, offering firms of all sizes a governed, audit-ready path towards automated processes and AI-driven operations.
By combining, the two businesses can act as a single partner covering the entire reconciliation lifecycle, spanning data ingestion, matching, controls, and risk and compliance management.
The enlarged product range lets clients pick whichever operating model suits their regulatory demands, technology roadmap and deployment preferences, all sitting inside one governed control framework. Three routes are on offer.
The first is AutoRek’s core enterprise private cloud platform, aimed at firms handling large transaction volumes, complicated data sources and heavy regulatory obligations, pairing controls automation with the AutoRek Intelligent Agent (ARIA) for AI-driven operational intelligence.
The second is Grath’s multi-tenant SaaS reconciliation platform, designed for rapidly scaling companies wanting FCA-aligned governance without building their own infrastructure, now backed by AutoRek’s global scale and service model.
The third is Topa, Grath’s embedded AI infrastructure, which supplies reusable matching services and governed agentic reasoning that firms can plug straight into proprietary systems while keeping architectural control.
The transaction also pushes forward AutoRek’s international growth plans. Grath brings a US client base that adds to AutoRek’s expanding American footprint, following the opening of its Miami office and two senior regional sales hires earlier this year, while Grath’s UAE clients deepen AutoRek’s reach in the Middle East.
Founded in 2019, Grath is a London-headquartered reconciliation and regulatory compliance technology firm serving banks, payment providers, brokers and FinTechs from offices in the UK, UAE and Australia. Earlier this year it launched Topa, which lets financial services teams embed a matching engine, FS-trained machine learning models and an agentic reasoning layer for exception handling into their own systems, suited to those preferring to build reconciliation in-house.
AutoRek CEO Chris Livesey said, “Customers want the benefits of AI delivered through governance, auditability and human oversight. By bringing together AutoRek’s enterprise control capabilities with Grath’s AI innovation, customers gain more choice in how they deploy and more confidence in the controls that underpin it.”
Grath CEO Matt Povey said: “Financial services is at an inflection point. Institutions no longer want to choose between robust enterprise controls and the speed of AI-led innovation, and now they do not have to. Whether customers want a dedicated deployment, a SaaS solution live in hours, or embedded agentic infrastructure, they can now adopt any model within a single governed framework.”
