LexisNexis partnership to tackle mobile fraud blindspots

LexisNexis Risk Solutions, the global risk intelligence provider, has formed a strategic alliance with Promon, a mobile application security specialist, to strengthen fraud prevention in mobile environments by combining app-level protection with identity and behavioural risk intelligence.

The launch combines LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ ThreatMetrix® digital identity, device and behavioural intelligence with Promon Shield’s in-app protection and Promon Insight telemetry capabilities, with the goal to help organisations better detect and prevent fraud attempts that increasingly target the mobiåçle applications.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Promon currently support protection and risk assessment across billions of app installations and digital identities globally, serving a wide range of enterprise customers operating in high-risk digital environments.

The partnership reflects a wider shift in fraud patterns, with attackers moving beyond traditional hacking methods and instead manipulating mobile apps directly. Techniques such as malware injection, overlay attacks, device tampering, reverse engineering and automated abuse are becoming more common, creating challenges for organisations relying solely on perimeter-based security or post-event detection.

By combining application protection with risk intelligence, the partnership is designed to improve visibility across the customer’s entire mobile journey. LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ Dynamic Decision Platform will enable organisations to connect app integrity signals with identity and transactional data to support more informed real-time fraud decisions.

Promon Shield provides runtime application protection alongside telemetry collection and deployment capabilities designed to safeguard mobile applications against tampering. Promon Insight delivers trusted in-app telemetry signals, strengthening the reliability of data used in fraud detection systems and improving confidence in mobile phone use.

Alongside this, the ThreatMetrix® service adds an additional layer of intelligence by analysing digital identity, device behaviour and global network signals to detect suspicious activity patterns. Together, these capabilities aim to reduce blind spots in mobile fraud detection.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions chief commercial officer Grayson Clarke said, “Promon’s app protection capabilities complement the insights delivered through our LexisNexis® Risk Intelligence Network, helping customers strengthen the signals they rely on to better detect fraud across the mobile environment.”

Promon chief executive officer Daniel Kollberg added, “As fraud increasingly targets the mobile app and device environment, organisations need clearer insight into whether each session can be trusted.”
