SpotOn, the US restaurant technology and payments provider, has brought in AiPrise, the identity verification company, to confirm who stands behind every business that joins its platform.
Through the partnership, AiPrise will validate the individuals linked to each restaurant SpotOn signs up.
Each person is checked against government data sources and screened against international watchlists, with both steps completed inside a single process. SpotOn gains assurance about the people running its restaurant partners before those businesses begin processing payments.
The choice reflects a tension built into SpotOn’s model. Supplying software and payment services to restaurants requires the firm to bring business owners aboard in large numbers, while also knowing precisely who controls each account. Those checks must be reliable, yet they cannot delay a new restaurant’s launch. By combining identity confirmation and watchlist screening in one flow, SpotOn aims to satisfy both demands at once.
SpotOn develops the software and payment tools that restaurants across the US depend on for daily operations. The company serves an industry defined by hectic service periods and narrow profit margins, where the systems supporting a business must keep pace with its demands. Rapid verification of each new partner forms part of how SpotOn delivers on that.
AiPrise described itself as pleased to support SpotOn’s work in keeping restaurants operating, and formally welcomed the company as a client.
SpotOn chief compliance officer Lisa Lechner said, “Our restaurant partners want to be up and running fast, and we need to be certain who we’re working with to keep their accounts secure from day one. AiPrise lets us do both without adding friction to onboarding.”
