ThreatLocker raises $190m to fight AI-driven attacks

ThreatLocker

ThreatLocker, a global cybersecurity company built around the Zero Trust model, has closed a $190m Series F round as it moves to counter the security risks created by the rapid spread of AI agents and AI-accelerated attacks.

The round was led by Elephant, with existing backers D. E. Shaw Ventures and Arthur Ventures returning and Koch Disruptive Technologies joining as a significant new investor.

The fresh capital will fund ongoing development of the firm’s controls for AI-related security risks, enhancements to its Zero Trust Platform, and international expansion, starting with a new office in Reading in the UK.

The raise lands as businesses grapple with a threat landscape reshaped by the need to secure AI agents and fend off exploits accelerated by AI. In response, ThreatLocker has broadened its platform to address both conventional and AI-driven activity.

Its Allowlisting capability blocks unauthorised AI tools and AI-generated code from running, while Ringfencing™ governs what sanctioned applications and AI agents can touch, alter and communicate with. Further controls manage the use of AI websites and shield sensitive data from unauthorised exposure.

These capabilities sit alongside the recently launched ThreatLocker Zero Trust Network Access and Zero Trust Cloud Access, which stretch the platform across endpoints, networks and cloud resources through a single dashboard.

ThreatLocker’s growth has been powered by making Zero Trust, long seen as hard to implement, simple to roll out and run across complicated environments. More than 70,000 organisations globally now use the platform to bolster their defences without adding operational strain. T

he company aims to shift cybersecurity from an “allow-by-default” model to a “deny-by-default” one, giving businesses command over the software, users and devices running in their environments.

Over the past 18 months the firm has widened its international footprint, opening offices in Brisbane and Dubai to complement its bases in Orlando and Dublin, with the UK site set to deepen its reach across the United Kingdom and Europe.

ThreatLocker has also featured on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies for two consecutive years. As part of the deal, Koch Disruptive Technologies will bring its partner community, industry knowledge and Koch Labs® capabilities to support the team as it scales.

ThreatLocker CEO and co-founder Danny Jenkins said, “Most cybersecurity tools are still built around identifying malicious activity after it has already entered an environment, when the damage may already be done. We believe the better model is to define what is allowed and deny everything else by default.

“We are living in a world where new agents are constantly being introduced and granted access to sensitive resources, which makes our mission more urgent. Our investors share our vision for changing the cybersecurity paradigm, and their partnership will help us strengthen our platform and protect more organizations around the world.”
