Uncapped turns to AiPrise to tighten US borrower checks

Uncapped, a provider of capital to online retailers, has selected AiPrise to run its know-your-business (KYB) processes in the US, a move that brings company checks and lien searches together under a single provider.

Under the partnership, AiPrise will handle Uncapped’s US KYB operations, with lien checks forming part of the service. The arrangement gives the lender one platform and one integration for confirming the identity and status of the businesses it funds, so that each financing decision rests on a consistent, verified set of information.

For a lender, the starting point of any deal is certainty about the borrower. Before releasing funds, Uncapped must establish that an applicant genuinely exists, that it is in good standing, who owns and controls it, and whether another lender already holds a claim over its assets.

In the US this task is complicated by fragmentation, as the relevant records sit across 50 separate state registries alongside distinct lien filings, making manual assembly of a complete profile a time-consuming exercise.

AiPrise checks businesses against primary records in more than 200 countries, using upwards of 100 data sources. Its platform also identifies the individuals who sit behind each entity and screens them as part of the verification process.

Uncapped focuses on financing e-commerce companies, which typically require access to capital quickly. Lenders in this space, however, must be confident in a borrower before any money is released. Uncapped aims to deliver funding at a speed that matches the growth of the businesses it supports, and robust verification of each applicant underpins that ambition.
