Zero Networks raises $55m to combat ransomware

Zero Networks, a cybersecurity firm specialising in automated microsegmentation and zero trust solutions, has raised $55m in a Series C funding round.

The round was led by Highland Europe, with continued support from existing backers F2 Venture Capital, PICO Venture Partners, Venrock and U.S. Venture Partners (USVP).

The latest investment brings Zero Networks’ total funding to over $100m. As part of the deal, Highland Europe principal Jacob Bernstein will join the company’s board of directors.

Founded to address lateral movement threats in enterprise networks, Zero Networks provides identity- and network-based controls that prevent attackers from moving laterally within compromised environments. Its technology is designed to shift the cybersecurity paradigm from reactive to proactive, helping defenders regain control with minimal complexity.

The new capital will support Zero Networks’ global expansion plans across North America, EMEA, and APAC. It will also fund additional hires in sales, marketing, R&D, and customer support, while accelerating product innovation in its flagship microsegmentation platform and broader zero trust portfolio.

Since its Series B round, the company has seen significant momentum, reporting a 300% increase in revenue and a tripling of its customer base. It has also doubled its team as demand rises for effective lateral movement protection in the face of growing ransomware and supply chain threats.

The company also offers Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Identity Least Privilege capabilities on a unified platform.

Zero Networks CEO and co-founder Benny Lakunishok said, “Microsegmentation has long been the crown jewel of network defense; praised for its effectiveness but abandoned because of its complexity.

“This funding raise validates everything we’ve claimed since day one: that we can make segmentation simple, scalable, and powerful enough to contain ransomware and stop lateral movement at its source. It also opens up a massive opportunity for every network defender out there to stop playing catch-up and start taking control.”

Highland Europe principal Jacob Bernstein said, “Cybersecurity’s most promising but often misunderstood tool is microsegmentation.

“This technique is essential to proactive zero trust architecture that prevents attacks by design rather than merely responding to them. Since the early days of evaluating Zero Networks, it was incredibly clear that their customers don’t just like Zero – they love it. This is a testament to everyone from the founding team to their most recent hires at all levels, hand-picked to serve Zero’s customers and build innovative solutions. I look forward to working closely with Zero Networks, a company that I believe is going to achieve phenomenal success and enormous outcomes for its customers.”
